- A wide range of flowering plants have been recorded in the Senni Valley and it's protected areas.
- Purple saxifrage Saxifraga oppositifolia, an arctic-alpine plant, is found on high shady cliffs in the Craig Cerrig Gleisiad National Nature Reserve, surviving far south since the end of the last ice age. It's presence is being used as an indicator of climate change.
